The detail in this traditional Palembang weave is astounding. The iridescent gold speckled in the blue and intertwined with the purple isn't noticed at first glance, but the minute details add to the richness of the pattern. The jeweled tones are reminiscent of the Canang Sari left out every morning on the neighboring island by Balinese Hindu women as an offering of thankfulness to the God, Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, for the peace received in life.
